Forming a 391 in Lamar County Workshop

A group of concerned citizens have scheduled a workshop to discuss the formation of a 391 Commission for Lamar County. The definition of a 391 is a political subdivision created to improve the health, safety, and general welfare of residents, to access and manage environmental impact and to plan for future development in a specific region. They encourage and permit local governmental units to join and cooperate on planning and development issues. They are broken down by Council of Governments which in our area includes - Bowie, Cass, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Lamar, Morris and Red River. We feel that with the influx of solar and wind farms and the battery storage facilities (BESS) it is time to bring an extra level of oversight to our area. The workshop will be held Friday, May 23rd at 6:30pm at Springlake Baptist Church, 3500 Clarksville in Paris.
